Junior Coaching

We offer a variety of coaching for all ages and abilities in a safe, controlled environment. All our sessions are coached by top FA qualified coaches who have been CRB checked and hold both First Aid and Child Protection Certificates. All players who attend any session at the Academy must wear shin pads.

Junior Kickers

Junior  Kickers is run as a 10 week course to encourage familiarity and confidence amongst attendees. It seeks to provide both boys and girls aged 3 and 4 with an introduction to football, using fun games and activities to teach the games primary skills. Coaches pay particular focus on developing children’s co-ordination, balance, ball movement and self confidence. Each 45 minute session is taught on a coach to child ratio at the Stevenage Football Academy in a safe and friendly learning environment.

Junior kickers is designed into three ability groups with Beginners and Intermediate aimed at 3 and 4 year olds and Advanced groups for children moving towards school starting age. Our advance groups seek to provide transition from mini kickers to Soccer School Pay & Play, allowing players to slowly and safely adapt to the style of play found in Soccer School Pay & Play.

Soccer Kids

Soccer Kids aims to provide children aged 5-11 with the opportunity to learn and have fun whilst playing football. Each session is designed to teach players new skills and techniques using fun games and drills delivered on a progressive basis. Sessions cover a variety of skills including passing, turning, shooting, heading and ball skills, as well as match time. From time to time SFC players will also call into provide advice for the young players and each week a player of the week is selected and rewarded.

Soccer Kids membership is available in 10 week periods and enables children to attend all of their weekly Soccer Kids sessions (20 in total) for just £40!, resulting in an amazing saving of £30 per child. In addition members recieve a 10% discount on party bookings.

Soccer Camps

Soccer camps run during the school holidays for both boys and girls and are designed for children aged 5-12. We combine fun games and activities with the sports principal skills and provide the perfect holiday boredom solution. Camps run from 10am till 3pm at either the Stevenage FC Football Academy or at SFC in the community selected venues. Children are advised to bring lunch and snacks as well as plenty to drink & clothing for adverse weather. All children must wear shinpads and suitable footwear. No screw-in-studs or metal blades will be allowed for safety reasons. We also run special Junior Kickers Soccer Camps for under 5’s which are in a similar format to normal Junior Kickers sessions.

February Half-Term Soccer Camp

Stevenage F.C in the Community will be running their popular Soccer Camp throughout the February Holidays. The course will run Monday13th-Friday 17th February 2012. These sessions run from 10am-3pm, with 2 half-hour breaks for snacks and lunch at 11.30am and 1.30pm. Specialised Sessions

In addition to our Junior Kickers and Soccer Kids session we also run specialised sessions on a weekly basis for girls and goalkeepers.

Safe Hands

Safe hands are specialised 1 hour sessions for 8 – 12 year olds who have an interest in goalkeeping. The session taught by our FA qualified goalkeeping coach provide attendees with valuable guidance about how to play in the position using creative drills and games. Sessions teach basic goalkeeping principles by focusing on key skills which are broken down and taught in small steps, to enable maximum understanding. Safe Hands is run over a 10 week course at a cost of £50.00 and provides coaching on crosses, diving, positioning, handling, footwork and shot stopping.

SFC in the community birthday parties are the ideal party for any football mad boy or girl and are designed to allow you to build the perfect individual party.
